1. Scope
This notice applies to the public Solve Engineering website, its automated text-screening feature, and the review-intake page. Professional engineering engagements, NDA-covered transfers, and client deliverables are governed by separate written agreements.
Do not submit proprietary, NDA-covered, personal, export-controlled, security-sensitive, or regulated information. Contact us first to discuss confidentiality terms and an appropriate transfer method.
2. Automated screening data flow
When you select a supported PDF, DOCX, TXT, or Markdown file, your browser extracts text from the file. Selecting a file alone does not send the extracted text to Solve Engineering.
After you acknowledge the limitations and start screening, the website sends up to the first 30,000 extracted characters, together with the source character count, to a Solve Engineering Cloudflare Worker. The Worker sends that text to the Google Gemini API to generate automated screening observations.
- The tool does not intentionally send the original file itself to the review Worker.
- The tool does not evaluate images, plots, drawings, tables, equations, model files, signatures, or text beyond the stated character limit.
- The current website and Worker code do not intentionally write extracted report text to a persistent Solve Engineering application database.
- Network, security, abuse-monitoring, and provider logs may still be processed or retained by hosting and API providers according to their configurations and terms.
3. Contact and intake information
The current fallback intake form prepares an email draft in your own email application. It does not transmit the form contents through this website or upload attachments. Information is sent only when you send the resulting email.
Email messages may include your name, email address, company, project jurisdiction, requested timing, and project description. Please keep initial messages high level until confidentiality and transfer requirements are agreed.
4. Service providers and external resources
The public website may request font resources from Google Fonts. PDF.js and Mammoth are served from the Solve Engineering website and run in your browser to extract text from supported files. The automated screening flow uses Cloudflare Workers and the Google Gemini API. Those providers may receive normal technical information such as IP address, browser headers, timestamps, and request metadata.
Google's handling of Gemini API prompts and responses depends on whether the API project uses paid or unpaid services and on its logging configuration. Review the current Gemini API terms, data logging policy, and zero-data-retention guidance. Cloudflare's processing is described in its privacy policy.
5. Security and retention
Reasonable technical controls are used to limit access and reduce misuse, but no public internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. The website does not promise zero retention because infrastructure and API provider retention can vary by service plan, logging settings, abuse-monitoring requirements, and law.
For an engagement requiring an NDA, controlled access, a specific retention period, deletion commitments, or data-location restrictions, obtain written confirmation before transmitting project files.
6. Your choices and contact
You can avoid automated processing by not using the screening tool and instead requesting a professional scope discussion. You may also ask what contact information Solve Engineering holds about you or request correction or deletion, subject to contractual, professional, security, and legal recordkeeping requirements.
Questions about this notice can be sent to [email protected]. This notice may be updated when the website, provider configuration, or operating practices change.
